What do you do?
If the seller is deceased, unable to make legal decisions, or requires a power of attorney (POA) for the solar transfer, follow these steps:
Deceased Seller: The estate executor or legal representative must provide proof of authority, such as a death certificate and letters testamentary, to initiate the transfer.
Seller Unable to Make Legal Decisions: If the seller is unable to manage the transfer due to cognitive or medical limitations, a legally authorized POA must submit documentation granting them the authority to act on the seller’s behalf.
Power of Attorney: Ensure the POA document is valid and explicitly allows the assignee to manage the solar transfer. The assignee must provide all necessary documentation to proceed.
Once the required legal documents are submitted, the transfer process follows standard procedures but may take additional time for verification. Use the provided emails to submit documents, referencing the property address and any case numbers for efficient processing.
