If you’re dealing with a PPA
If the property is being purchased by an investor or LLC and the solar contract is a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), the buyer must provide the company’s articles of incorporation as part of the transfer process. These documents must designate an authorized representative who can sign on behalf of the LLC.
For the transfer to be completed, the same authorized individual listed in the articles of incorporation must be the one to sign all required documentation. The solar provider may also request additional verification to ensure the designated representative has the authority to assume the PPA. Once the transfer is initiated, the buyer and escrow will receive instructions and necessary documents to finalize the process. Providing the correct corporate documentation upfront will help prevent delays.
